PHILOSOPHY
Much of Japan's knowledge work is spent maintaining what already exists: transcribing, reconciling, routing approvals, and repeating the same work without mistakes.
This is not laziness. As society became more complex, maintenance itself became a massive job. The problem is that lives keep being invested in it.
What is missing is not intelligence. It is the connection to scattered, closed data.
An AI without context is a talented new hire: excellent, but knowing nothing about this company. Connection turns it into a veteran.
Society will not change all at once. It changes one company at a time, one piece of work at a time.
One task leaves human hands and starts running on its own. The task beside it joins. As more tasks join, more moves through the company. Once a certain density is crossed, the company becomes something else.
THE NAME
Latens means hidden in Latin. Latent heat — when ice becomes water, the temperature does not move. What moves is invisible heat. At the moment the state changes, the force is still out of sight.
Our logo is a spinning top.
A top at rest is just a lump. Without support, it falls. The instant it starts spinning, the same object stands on one point and stays up without a hand. Its form has not changed. Only its state has.
This is what we want for companies: not to add something new, but to let the force already there keep turning after the hand lets go.
